Watch out-I've got food on the brain!

Chicken Pot Stickers

I made a yummy dinner this week: homemade chicken pot stickers and Asian rice bowl salad. Beware, the pot stickers are VERY good, but they are labor intensive!!! The salad I have been eating on for several days and it is excellent, I just finished it for my dinner. It is very crunchy and that dressing gives it a great flavor. I used napa cabbage in mine. That kind of cabbage doesn't have a strong "after taste"; it's almost like lettuce. I didn't use chicken (definitely not tofu, but that's just me) because I had the chicken pot stickers with it. But I bet chicken would be good.

Today was Hayden's last t-ball game. Good thing too, because it's getting hot and humid here. After the game, I ran to Costco and got some supplies for a little BBQ at our house with our neighbors the Stanalands and our OLD neighbors the Reinkes. We are still hoping they will want to move back, but I think they like Austin too much. I stocked up on some of my favorites. I LOVE that Chocolate Lover's Delight Bundt cake. I also bought those frozen hamburger patties, because I was pressed for time and wanted to get lunch on the table fast. Where have those been my whole life? How handy are those pre-made patties?! They also sell this rotisserie chicken Greek pasta salad that's good. Cherries are in, and they are great. I think of my Mom when I eat cherries because she loves them too. Hmmm I've got food on the brain tonight don't I?

Yummy! When I firts saw your blog my stomache rumbled (Hey, I can always eat at 10:30 pm!) The pot stickers and salad look so good--I'm going to have to try them. My husband loves the sirloin patties at Costco--so convenient! I love Cherries, too. I need to go eat...

You made my day posting that picture of Hayden. He is so funny and always ready to pose in his own cute way. We had potstickers this week but not homemade. Yours looked way good.

Sorry, but potstickers are not on the approved menu around here. We don't like em. But so happy you guys enjoyed. Did you find a cherry pitter yet? Go look, it works wonders!

Those potstickers look hard to make. I'm lazy about recipes that require lots of work. Could it be that I get NO appreciation? I think so. I will have to try those frozen patties. We like the Costco fresh hamburger patties, but I don't get that they have the hole in them? Whats that about? Plus, Michael grills slices of pineapple on them so its a double hole. It makes me think we should eat them on a bagel instead of a bun to finish off the whole "hole" theme. Hee hee

I love the new banner - or maybe it is just new to me. It is an accomplishment to modify those in blogger! Way to go Heather.
