So Belinda came for a visit this morning out of nowhere. For those of you who don't know her, it's my evil alter-ego. It was a short visit, but she was definitely here. Maybe it was the dishes, the boys closet that looked like a bomb (aka Hayden) had been set off, laundry-oh the never ending laundry...and maybe the fact that Scott was on his way to Singapore this morning that made Belinda appear. Whatever it was, I was really looking forward to a good work out. I needed to blow off a little steam!!
I made it to the 9:45 spinning class, the only problem is, it's only 45 minutes. Just not long enough when you are 5 minutes late, and the teacher decides to cool down when my heart rate monitor said 35 minutes!! (She had someplace to go I guess) There is this class called The MIXX at Lifetime that Jennifer is always bugging me to go to. Up until today, I have told her NO WAY! You see it's a mix (hence the name :) of kickboxing, athletic drills, high impact moves, low impact/dynamic moves...all of which I'm fine with...it's the last element that drove me away...the "funk" portion. So, right before cool down in spinning, I jumped off my bike and hit The MIXX! You know how everybody always says "just do it nobody else is watching you" that's crap! I was totally watching everybody else...and I was no better or worse than them so I got my "funk" on!! The teacher kept saying "okay here's the "body and soul" or the "funk" part of the workout-like I couldn't tell already!! I just let it go and decided to give everybody a show of what this white girl could do! I've now got some new moves. Some need a "little" work, but it was a good time, and Belinda, I'm happy to report is long gone!

sometimes all it takes is a good workout. or a pan of brownies! :) sounds like a fun class. they are opening a lifetime down the street from us and i've been debating about joining. it's just really pricy! right now i work out on my mom's (really nice) elliptical for free. but it's so enticing...the pools, the yoga, the kids area. you should do an entire post about lifetime so i can make up my mind! :)
what moves did you show them? the running man? the roger rabbit? robot? the dice shaker? rock it woman!!! i'm laughing imagining!
Janet definitely has some good moves too! Glad you had fun. I got my sweat on today just by walking from Target to my car in the 105 degree weather. Not because it winded me, don't worry, because it is BLOODY hot here! Hot enough to tempt Sarah to come out and play...
I've been extremely grouch too. I haven't come up with a name for that persona. I have always just thought of her as the bi-otch. As soon as Ryan get's home we will go in the backyard and pound some laps. That will make me feel better. Poor Kaitlin I have been MEAN today. Glad you had fun in your class. You are brave I would be too afraid to do that. I look like Elaine from Seinfeld when I dance.
i've had "nasty" in my head for the last few hours. thanks heather. "miss jackson, if you're nasty"
heather's really got a thing for the jacksons. when i was little, i shared a room with heather. she was awesome to share a room with. she told me stories. she made me sit up straight when i coughed. she would let me leave the light on in the closet if i was scared. i even remember her walking me to my parents bedroom when it was really bad. i'll put this trip down memory lane to an end - by sharing this last little tid bit. i inherited her dresser, or we shared it, can't recall. but i do know that she engraved "i love michael jackson" in it. i always worried that i'd get in trouble for it! haha.
Rumor has it, Heather also cried from being so overjoyed when Michael took home a few Grammys.
Oh I did cry, I was hysterical! Well, almost anyway. But, yes I did "love" Michael. He is such a freak today though. No running man today Hayley sorry to disappoint you! haha
Go Heather! Go Heather! Get your groove on! Do y'all hear the the tune in the background like I do? If not, it makes no sense. Anyway, will you come to the whole class next Monday? I was so sorry to miss it yesterday! Darn.
Sounds like your husband will have a treat to look forward to when he gets home--some new moves ;) That's awesome that you were brave and went to a new class. I always get REALLY nervous about taking new classes, but I'm always glad when I do. I'm headed to a spin class in about an hour and I can't wait for jello legs! Say hi to Belinda for me :)
I added a picture to my profile. Now you get my big face when I post a comment.
