Scott gave me my ring last night! We were going to my friend Carrie's birthday party...at Lupe Tortilla...and I got out of the car. He asked me if I had forgotten something, "nope I've got everything", totally not thinking, hello!! Then he holds up a little box. I screamed! I knew he had it. He was waiting for the right moment. He's had it since Tuesday!!! He said he WAS going to give it to me for my birthday, but that "I wouldn't have made it". He was just excited too :) I love it and it looks great. Yeah for me :)
Scott=smart man
man at the Kroger=dumb man
After dinner, we ran in to Kroger to pick up some $$ and I needed...well some pads. We did the divide and conquer thing. Scott was getting something and I headed over to the feminine hygiene area. All of a sudden, creepy man appears...
He tells me his wife his having a miscarriage.
Me:"Oh I'm so sorry about that..."
Him: "Oh it's no big deal, she was only a few weeks along"
Me: okaaay, I hope you aren't saying that to her, but alrighty.
Him: "But can you help me pick out some pads and some...I think pantie something..."
Me: "Pantie-liners? Does she have a particular brand she likes?" I'm thinking this is a very strange conversation to be having with a stranger. Why are you asking me? Can't you just PICK something??
Him: "She didn't say, she usually uses tampons"
Me: Ewww, okay this is weird..."I like these" and I'm pointing to Always.
The next thing I know, I hear this familiar voice. "Yes, could you help me pick out a yeast infection cream for my wife?" I start cracking up because it's Scott.
Scott: "What were you talking about pads for with that man?"
Me: "I don't really know. Would you ever have asked a strange woman about pads/pantie-liners at the Kroger??"
Scott: "He** no."
Ahhhh, good times.

As always Scottie does not dissapoint. I sure wish he had a blog. Oh wait, I read somewhere HE DOES. I would like to know the address, please.
oh i love scottie. he's great. "yeast infection" cream. whoa!
Oh my goodness, that yeast infection bit made me laugh pretty hard. I like his sense of humor. And seriously, any guy that will say the word "panty" and "tampons" to you is a freakin weirdo.
I am SO excited you got your ring--he sure is a sweet husband.
Maybe he should have asked a salesperson but never a customer standing in the aisle. Scott makes me laugh, too.
Glad you got the ring. I can hardly wait to see it this weekend.
oh, that poor man. I feel sorry for him. He probably has no social filter, plus he might have been sad on his own, AND had to deal with a hormonal and blubbering wife and then go and face most guy's worst nightmare - buying the feminine products! you might have looked like a friendly face in the midst of all of that. Or you may have blinded him with your new ring and he was momentarily stunned;)
I'm still laughing at Scott's comment. What a guy. Love the ring thing though -- poor weird man at Kroger!
woo hoo! I bet it's beautiful!!
lupe tortilla, i forgot about that place..yum!
woohoo i can't wait to see your ring!! scott's followup to the creepy guy was funny.
Poor man, he probably felt like a fool asking you for advice and if he didn't...he should have! That is a funny story...love the yeast part!
Hee hee...I love Scotts comment. Oh man the creepy man thing. Ugh...Post picture of ring please!:)
Yeah this particular guy was just creepy. Normally, I would feel kind of sorry for the guy. In fact I did, at first, but he just kept using all the wrong words WAY too much. hehe
i'm dying!!! that is freakin' hilarious! ewww, buying pads is bad enough. having to chit chat about them with a stranger is the WORST!!!
hooray for your ring! let's see a pic!!!
ohh yah!! We want a picture of that blingy bling:)
what the...?
honestly. words escape me when it comes to the social idiot at the store. come on now...
I had no idea Scott was such a card:)
Scott is a crack up! Love the yeast infection bit. I would say Mr. Kroger was a full blown weirdo and it was a good thing Scott came along. Wife's never send their husbands to the store and say "surprise me honey pick out anything." we give full instructions right? Major sicko I would say.
