Did I happen to mention I am a little compulsive?

Yesterday, I seriously kicked this house's butt, well if it had a butt I would have kicked it. I dusted the blinds, cleaned the downstairs carpets, vacuumed all crevices with a mini vac, and did all regular jobs (including vacuum, dusting, mopping, bathrooms) Oh oh and laundry did I tell you I had a few loads to "catch up" on?? :) I was cleaning until 5 minutes before Hunter was supposed to get home. At which time I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror and said, "Ewwww, yikes, you need a shower and a little make-up before you scare the kids". So, with 5 whole minutes to spare, I headed for the shower. What a great productive day, slightly compulsive on my part, but good. Imagine, if I'd do that kind of deep clean once a week...just once a week, plan on staying home and tackling a major project. I moved the girl's room around a little bit. That opened up a whole can of worms in and of itself. Hannah likes to use the space under Hope's crib as a clubhouse. Oh good grief, that club house had gone mad. Let's just say I I took a full garbage out to the OUTSIDE can before anybody got home :) If I REALLY had a problem of being too compulsive, I'd be upstairs right now organizing drawers, but I'm not so I don't. AND I was okay when the kids came through and started messing up my totally clean for 5 minutes house. Even the poop I saw on the toilet seat didn't bother me that much. Thank heavens for Clorox wipes!

Well, I mention the whole cleaning thing, because of something I found under the sofa in the piano room. I even washed that slip-cover in there. The couch was all pulled back and I had vacuumed behind the couch, in the windowsill (that was the other thing every window got vacuumed out). Anyway, I'm pushing the couch back and I bend down to look at something kind of...weird. Without thinking I pick it up...oh look what kind of little toy thing is this...it kind of looks like the head of a play snake...OR a dead partially dehydrated tree frog!!!!!!!!!!!! Remember that poor frog that lost it's way and was smooshed in our front door? Well, he was just searching out his loved one, the one that got trapped in our house...and died...under my couch. I know I should have taken pictures, but I was just too shocked to think about documenting. Sorry.

Moving on to other creepy things...this big old spider kept (for 2 days straight) trying to build his big old web between our two front pillars right off the front porch. The kids were short enough to fit right under, but seriously anytime an adult walk up his big old web was ruined. I was just amazed that he kept building it up in the same spot...he liked his spot I guess. They are fast big old web builders too, just so you know. But on the third morning, this morning actually, he wasn't there. But I looked out and this is what I saw. He had moved over a foot and had attached himself to a tall shrub and the tree. I don't really know why this fascinates me, but I'll admit it does. Enough so, you get to see pictures. :) I guess I should check out the spider and make sure it isn't poisonous. But it is Halloween and all...the perfect addition to my Halloween decorations....which I put out yesterday TOO.

Sure glad that was not a snake under your couch!!!! I put out Halloween yesterday, too. I have stopped decorating for a couple of years mainly because we are not home on the holidays but yesterday I had a clean house and got gourds (stole your idea in the big glass bowl) and decided to put up the other Halloween/Thanksgiving decorations. I got the candy and now I am ready for the trick or treaters. The big problem will be if I get in the candy. Oh boy...

woah heather...awesome on the cleaning!!! i felt productive just reading it! those are my favorite kinds of days. and about the spider webs..we have those at our house too..same exact huge webs, pillars on the porch, knock it down and there the next day, etc. mary k said that the marchands have them too..so maybe it's 'something in the air'?

ewww. I thought you had found JUST the frog head too. Double ewww.

That web IS fascinating, if not a little creepy. You got some GREAT pictures of it.

You honestly just motivated me. I'm gonna go give my kitchen/family room a once over before the kids get home. My bedroom doesn't have a prayer today so I'm just gonna shut the door and call it good :)
You really ARE supermom Heather:)

Hey, I don't know why, but I just realized I never actually linked you on my blog...but I'm gonna:)
So much for asking permission...

When I saw that spider web, I thought you were going to say you just decorated for Halloween. That sucker is huge! Why does tar like poo always show up the minute we finish cleaning? That always happens. It's like clean toilet=time for big ol' growler. ew!

wow, thats a sweet spider web. I don't know if I'd be able to keep it up though! I'd be to afraid of walking into it and getting a spider in my hair!
