Yesterday for dinner I made some yummy chicken with mango salsa. It was delicious. But...I did a stupid thing...I tried to yank the seeds out with my fingers instead of slicing it open and cutting away the seeds. I wasn't thinking, I was cutting it like it was a green pepper. Well, about an hour later, my three fingers started burning, they actually kind of hurt. They smelled like jalapeno too. So, this morning I go to put in my contacts, and OH MY GOSH, even after washing my hands like a mad woman, that juice is still on there enough to burn the crap out of my eyes. Learn from me people and be smarter with your jalapenos!
I'll admit, I was a few minutes late for church yesterday. The kids and I were walking in right as the bishopric member was announcing the open prayer. Lucky me. The "spirit" prompted him and he asked ME from across the pulpit... while I was walking in dragging 4 kids. (Scott was already sitting on the pew, he had meetings earlier.) I don't know about you, but the last half hour or so before church are a little crazy around here, and it usually takes me a few minutes to calm down and feel the spirit. I sat down, handed the baby over and started praying. If I wasn't feeling the spirit a minute before, I sure wasn't feeling it then. You should have seen the look I shot that man!! But it all turned out all right, I did a fine job and I even enjoyed the meeting. See what the spirit can do! Not a huge fan of being asked to say the opening prayer as I walk into the meeting though!!!
Sometimes we just don't get it as parents, you know?? I was in the primary room yesterday, and this Dad was yelling at his little boy for touching his sister. The Dad WAS talking and the little sister was annoyed with the little boy, but I watched it, and the little boy wasn't being mean, he was actually trying to help his baby sister. This other lady and I looked at each other and I said "sometimes we just miss it don't we?" Why is it we can see "it" for other people, but we miss "it" in our own lives. Oh...help me be more patient with my kids, not get annoyed when they bug Hope for the millionth time and make her fuss. They aren't being mean (maybe super annoying to me but...)they are just trying to say "I love you"
Well, it's 10:15 and I'm still sitting around in my garments. I'll try and put my contacts in again so I can see. I already decided it's an at home day. BTW, I have been up with Hope since 6. I'm just having a lazy morning. I'm NOT going to feel rushed this morning, I'm taking MY TIME.

Here is the new dress I bought for my sister-in-laws wedding. Doesn't that look comfy. I was walking by Banana Republic on Friday and saw it hanging in the window. I went it and bought it off the rack, without even trying it on. I like the shoes too. Those I'll have to try on though. :)

Milk takes the burn away. I don't know what it is about it, but maybe wash your hands with some milk? Those pepper oils don't break down with soap. I don't know how they're so strong!
Cute dress too! :)
Cute dress. Looks so comfortable and a great color with your red hair. Yes, it is always easier to see other's faults easier than our own.
i love that dress!!! and i'd try milk if shelley suggested. her voodoo ways have always worked! crazy stuff. just remember when we were on top of the conference center and that lady said "patience momma, patience" i say people just need to butt out! hehe.
i was totally feeling for you yesterday when he called you to say the prayer. you seem to have a much better attitude about it than i would! way cute dress.
Don't worry Hayley I didn't say anything to that man, that's for sure. But that's what I mean. I'm sure I "needed" a little more patience up there on the conference center roof, but don't go telling me that in the heat of the moment!! I just need more patience :)
Love the dress!! It will look so cute on you. I love your paragraph about getting "it". I heard a lady talking so snotty to her daughter in costco the other day. It sounded so ugly. I know I talk like that sometimes too. yuck-something to work on. I burn my eyes with jalapeno's all of the time. You're right you can't get it off of your hands, and when you put your contacts in it's ouchie momma!I have started to wear disposable gloves when I make salsa.
Love the dress. The wedding should be fun....
Good point Heather! I wish I could get the point more often--I am always much more understanding of other kids than my own. Not so good on my part! That STINKS about your eye--I am so sorry! I LOVE that dress, though. What a great find. The shoes are fabulous also!
Love the dress and loved the comments about kiddoes. It's very interesting to be in Primary and be sort of an 'objective' (non parental) observer. You see and learn lots of good things that way! Good for you for noticing.
eek, you poor eye! my eyes are watering in sympathy. love the dress, too. love it. in fact, i might have to go try it on. just for fun, of course. ;)
super cute dress. I love it.
I saw that dress when I was online shopping! It comes in tall and I wanted to buy it too, but I figured it would be too much of a pain while I am nursing. I mostly wear shirts and skirts for a while. It will be amazing on you!!!
