Do you check the pant pockets before you do the wash?

Gosh, don't you just hate it when you don't "listen". I was prompted to check Scott's pant pockets this morning when I was doing some laundry. I did check a couple pairs, but NOT all. I wasn't sure if I was being "prompted" because I was washing a favorite shirt of mine with some of his pants. I've been burned before (pen vs favorite shirt the shirt didn't win), or if there really was a reason. There really was a reason. I was almost at the gym when Scott calls and says he can't find a little USB memory stick...have I seen it. I say no, but I'm probably washing it right now!! Moral of the story:when you are prompted to do something DO IT!! I am amazed at how many "little" things I am prompted to do in a given day/week. It seems I don't remember them if I'm prompted and I listen, but it's a tough lesson when I am prompted and I don't listen. Hopefully, the memory stick will still work...it's been washed before :).

Oh, and speaking of laundry, Holly put in a link (a few weeks ago in her blog) to a new mag called Organize. I was checking it out...look for the little article on the laundry room. I sooo want to put a counter in over my washer and dryer just like they have. How handy is that!! I love all those cubbies too.

Girl, I feel you! I've washed my cellphone, (MY phone--how dumb) and you can't unwash stuff in the laundry--hopefully the memory stick will still work!

I feel your pain. My favorite jeans have lost the battle before with a black pen in Michael's jean pocket. Then he tried to "fix" it by rit dying my jeans! ***Men*** Was Scott mad? Do you need to remind him that I actually RAN OVER Michael's new laptop computer with the car? (I backed over it before a trip when we were packing the car and he put his bacpack behind the wheel) Again, MEN. But of course, it was my fault. That was a REALLY long road trip with him seething quietly, and me crying quietly. Anyway, feel free to use my stupidity as an example of "hey, Jennifer was WAY dumber than me!"

yeah, after the pen in the pocket episode last week, you'd think i've learned my lesson, but i'm sure it's only a matter of time. i'm with you about listening! it always amazes me how many little things like that happen all the time. i couldn't live but by the spirit! :)

the memory stick should make it through, that is one of the selling features! Kevin is actually pretty good about getting most crap out of his pockets. He has washed his own important stuff enough to check. Except change, there is always change rattling around our washing machine.

I washed my cell phone too. It was crazy, it didn't work at all and then after about 2 weeks it worked fine. I guess it just needed to dry out.

sad thing for me, i only have myself to blame when things get washed. i'm prety good about it though. :( with my luck, i'll be ruining my favorite clothes in my next load. and - one thing i have to say i love about my house (among many) is the shelves over the washer and dryer. what great space for cleaning supplies, towels/rags, etc...

Scott wasn't mad...when I wash things I always blame it on the person who left it in their pocket!! That's my trick you see. As far as the computer goes Jennifer, that would be Michael's fault for leaving it behind the wheel. hahaha I'm laughing now. Anyway, I once washed Hunter's DS (gameboy)and we turned it on and fried it. The little helper at Nintendo said if you wash electronics...never turn them on right away give them a chance to dry before you turn them on. 9/10 it's not the washing the kills them it's the shorting out when you turn them on wet. I just remembered that one.

wish you would have been prompted to write this sooner, i just had my cell phone soaked by a milk bottle and I turned it on and it still isn't working. so i probably ruined it by turning it on before it dried. good info on your blog, I tell you!

The USB memory stick worked fine. In fact, it smelled downy fresh!

So what have we learned?

washing memory sticks is fine, cell phones are iffy, and gameboys are a nono.

Also, when car meets laptop the car always wins.

I remember a time when we were all sitting down for dinner and Heather got home with a loud bang and she entered the door and said "Who left the broom in front of the car." Happy memories and I still laugh.

I do feel left out at time though. Have you noticed there are no images of Heather's husband on this blog? I have. I now have some sort of complex because of it.
