Hannah at the Fine Arts Festival with her foil creation. She had a cute fish picture there too that we didn't even know about until it came home. Poor fishy.
Hunter hanging around outside the other day. Giving me a look. He wants his hair "grown out" a little bit and we are in the painful middle stage. He actually has more red in his hair than I thought.
You know, when I was a kid, I hated to miss school. Partly because I didn't want to "miss out" on what was going on. But the big reason was I knew I'd just have to work that much harder once I got back. The same is still true today. I don't feel like I missed out on anything, no not that part. But I do look around at the house and say huhhhh??? Not that Scott didn't work hard picking up and cleaning up. He did, he tried. He even had the kids vacuuming, but it's just not the same. All the little hot spots have just gotten hotter. (HOT SPOTS are places where junk accumulates for all those people that have never heard of Fly Lady) And NO I am not taking a picture. Oh and the laundry...I have washed a few loads, but there has been no putting away by anyone. Yesterday I didn't care...today I care enough to clean bathrooms and pick up some...tomorrow...well we will see. I just might be in the fritz mode tomorrow. (The fritz mode, for those of you who didn't grow up with Michael Jones as your Dad, is when you start making piles of junk for people to clean up in a rather "frazzled state"). Love you Dad, you taught me everything I know about cleaning a bathroom.
So Hayden is down today. He is the best "barfer" I have. I don't think I can remember a time he has missed the whole. He started in this morning. Hope isn't a 100% this morning either. She has been in a onesie now for 2 days. What's the point, she's just going to poop on it. I can at least cut down on the laundry where I can.
Which leads me to another thing...dinners. So I have sat down to menu plan for the week. I don't know why because really we haven't eaten about half the things on my list for last week. But you know wild salmon is just not sounding good to me now. Some things can stay frozen or in the pantry for a week or so. Isn't it crazy the things that start sounding good after you have been sick. Why do I get a craving for Taco Bell?? I don't know, but I do. Chinese food sounds good to me too, but I can't call it by anything that would lead people (aka Hunter) to believe it has anything to do with Chinese food. Okay so I can't call this new little dish I want to make beef stir fry with snap peas. Heavens no. It will be simply beef with snap peas. Or I'm not going to make vegetable fried rice. It's just chicken with rice and corn and broccoli. Do you get the point?
It all leads back to my worst "barfer" Hunter's story. We had eaten Pei Wei Diner and then Cold Stone for dessert. He used to LOVE Pei Wei. But that night Hunter got sick. But Hunter didn't make it. In fact all HE did was hang his head over the side of the top bunk and do his thing. Scott and I awoke to the sound of splatter-everywhere. So, now Hunter "hates Chinese food because it made him sick". And I am afraid for when Hunter might get sick again.
This blog has taken over an hour to write. I keep getting interrupted. I need to go sit with my boy and watch a movie. I am no better than my kids with all the potty talk. At least I won't be sick for Mother's Day, but I bet Scott will. The BEST Mother's Day present of all!

oh, so that's why hunter hates pei wei, now... same for me, my favorite place used to be sugarhouse barbeque & then last year on my birthday, i got sick after eating it & i'll probably never eat there again. ;( that's also why i won't drink dr pepper - for fear of having that association. Yay for Hayden for being a trooper though. And Hopey probably looks cute in her onesie. And, that's crazy, cause I think I'll get taco bell on my way home today! What strange things we inherit from our parents... Cleaning binges from Dad, Cheap Mexican cravings post barfing from Nedra... Gotta love them!
It is from Mom you are right!!!
I remember you got taco bell after a stomach virus a last year! It must be your personal comfort food. Mine is Ravioli, go figure. Glad you are feeling better.
Mom made me on Taco Bell. Literally. She tells me the whole time I was in utero, literally like every day, she had to make a run for the border. What do you think that did for me??? I wasn't a crack baby, I was a Bell baby.
oh these kids, keep us on our toes for sure. cleaning up vomit is the worst! My sisters used to want taco bell when they were sick too. go figure.
Sorry to hear Hayden is down. Maybe he will be ready for Taco Bell tomorrow. Funny I visited the Bell today. Ha
