It's 7:30 and I've been up (doing stuff)for 2 1/2 hours. Insomnia again. I wake up at 4 am just about every morning now, and just lay there. Today I read for a little while, but then, just as I was falling back asleep, Scott had to get up to go run. That was it, I was up for the day. I started out, by going into the Christmas room (aka guest room) and got everything out (yet again) to make sure I'm not lop sided on anyone kid. Looking good. We are going to a neighborhood Christmas party (aka Texas BBQ) at Chase's today. The Reinke's, our old neighbor who moved to Austin, will be here. Maria, is making tamales with her family tomorrow, SO I will have a special treat come my way soon. Chase has gotten a bunch of fireworks, so the kids will all be happy. Especially Hayden. He and Chase are "bestest pals" when it comes to fireworks. EVERY afternoon/evening for days leading up to ANY holiday, Chase is out there with the fireworks, smoke bombs, sparklers...and so is Hayden.
My house is so torn apart right now. We are having the whole inside painted, and we are in the middle of that right now. In fact the painters should be here in about 10 minutes. I think they are painting over the wall paper in the kitchen today. New carpet comes the 2nd of January. At least I'll be able to enjoy all the renovations for a few weeks.
My timers should start going off soon. 3 pumpkin pies, and 2 loaves of corn bread. (one pie is for tonight, the others are for us!) Oh oh oh sugar cookie and thimble cookie dough was made too. The kids will have to be awake to help cook and decorate. That would be a SIN if I did that by myself!

I hear you on the insomnia thing. Too many years of teaching seminary have really ruined my sleep patterns! It sounds like you've been productive - I laughed when I read about you making sure the kids presents were even -- I still do that!
My presents are not even this year, I know it, but Will doesn't. And I bet you are excited about the paint. Are they taking off the wall paper first or are they literally painting right over it?
Literally painting over it. I have striped before (paper that is :) and when they put the paper down it was right on sheet rock, niiice. So, hunks of wall came off with the paper. So, painting over paper was the only answer in my book. I'm not terribly excited about the paint. I liked all my colors. I like "latte" too, but I miss my "butter" room and the girls "hot pink" room.
i hate insomnia! glad you're getting stuff done, though. i want some of those cookies! :)
I have had hideous insomnia lately! It must be stress. I go to bed at night and sleep for one hour, then I am awake for 3 hours and then zonk back out for an hour or so then am up by 5. bah! Sick of it. Your treats sound tasty too. I am baking poppyseed bread right now it is smelling mighty fine. My dansko clogs came today. They are lovely. Thanks for the great pick!
i've been having "insomnia" or maybe its just cause i haven't been able to sleep due to not being in my own bed. sleeping with nephews & nieces. that might add to my problem :)
