A work in progress

I loved today. It was such a nice family day. We had fun in the kitchen making some special treats like breakfast burritos, fajitas and cupcakes for a dessert. I followed that recipe down to the whole milk and UN-salted sticks of butter, and they were very good. (Thanks Kristi for the link) Hayden was my special helper today, and he kept reminding me about how good he was being today. Not to mention, staying in my PJs all day! Hope and I were the only ones that didn't get dressed all day. Scott had to go to a meeting tonight, bummer for him.

Anyway, I thought General Conference was great. I love how I came away from conference this time around feeling like I can do better, I can be a better person . I'm not thinking of all the things I'm not doing right today, I'm just thinking about how I can do/be better. It's all about the baby steps. We had a talk over our fajitas (started by Hunter) about how we are "different" and "different" is good. I was thinking wow, that writing down the speaker on a piece of paper made something click for him. (After he had been put in time out for about a half hour for "some issues", so...;) you know). We are all a work in progress, right? At one point, we were lecturing the kids about how good they have it, you know sitting in the comforts of their own home to watch conference. (So sit up and be quiet!!) "Back in the day...we had to get dress-up and go and sit on the hard pews for 2 hours..." Scott's was even better "Back in the day...I had to go and just listen...no TV to watch."

Anyway, I hope your day was great too. Nothing like some good spiritual food to fill you up.

You are so right Heather. We are all a work in progress. I feel fired up to do better too. I love conference weekend. I dressed long enough to go walking and then it was right back to pj's.

yah. It was a jammies day for sure.
I loved the fact that we all walked away feeling pumped up and motivated, not depressed about all the wrong choices we make daily. Good stuff, conference:)

Heather, hope you are feeling better. Maybe something new and shiny this week will aid in your progress?!

We always go to the church for conference. I do remember the days when you went and just listened no picture to watch. Heather you were very young but you were there listening, too.
Good stuff and so much was meant for me. I love that.
Cute of Hayden to remind you of what a good boy he was.

I love that concept -- work in progress. The nice thing is that we can get up and try to do better next time. Jammies days are awesome!

Love watching conference in PJ's! I find you listen better when you aren't all wrapped up in tights and skirts and slips and girdles...oops did I just say girdle...of course I don't wear one of those! Hee
