We made it! The flight was uneventful. The kids were great, yes even Hope. I didn't hear it, but the flight attendants said our kids were the best behaved "large family" she had ever seen. Thanks...I think. Does that mean they were good, or just good for a "large family"?? haha They were good all except when Hayden put his feet on Hannah and that started a small fist fight. No worries, all was worked out ;) Scout did just fine too, and seems to be acting totally normal.
Loved the new house! It was great. The yard was bigger than I thought, and so was the kitchen. Loved the kitchen. We do have moles though, (or some little fella that digs holes in the yard, lovely) that should be exciting getting rid of those. No rodents/cockroaches or mosquitoes though. Trade offs...The master bedroom was a little smaller than I thought, but still bigger than what I currently have. Well, scratch that, what I used to have (dang) But the bathroom seemed bigger, so hey, it's all good. Loved the lower level. It has the game room, wet bar, and 2 bedrooms and bathroom. Oh and the basement will be heaven. I can't wait to fill it up with all kinds of crap...I mean stuff.
I got tired at about 4:00, and definitely wanted to go home. I wanted to go back to Texas, to all my friends and neighbors. When we were at the new house, a couple of Mormon neighbors came down to visit. It should have been such a happy/exciting moment, but it wasn't. I just kept thinking "these are not MY neighbors." This isn't Kellie, Cathy, Julie or Jennifer. Scott keeps reminding us, "no this isn't Texas,, and it's not as good, but it's Washington and let's look for the good here!" Okay, must remember that. I wish I could call my Mom tonight and have her come pick me up and take me home. Oh wait...I am the Mom! hehe. At one point Hannah said she felt like crying, but couldn't. Hayden told her to poke herself in the eye, that would take care of it. Ahhhh, crazy kid.
I do need to go do laundry, I'm all out of jeans. Even with all those suitcases, I still don't think I packed enough clothes for me. Maybe Scott will do it for me... we have to go use the common laundry room, yuck o! That is not music to my ears.
Oh yeah, we got a call today from the lady that is setting up our housing stuff her. A 3 bedroom townhouse becomes available on Wednesday. So, we will be moving to a bigger place on Wed. This Residence Inn is actually very nice, but bigger is better...right?

Glad you liked the new house. It sounds like it will be wonderful. All will fall into place and the sooner the better. Any new pictures?
Oh man. I'm sad you guys are gone. Even though I didn't see you that often, I liked knowing you were right in your place doing your thing. And now you are in another place and probably still doing your thing, but the mental picture is all screwed up for me. And somehow that just doesn't seem good. But it will all come together because you are a can-do gal. Post some pictures soon so that I can get my mental picture back in line and move on with my life.
I hope that is some Residence Inn room. Yes, bigger is better, I should say! I can't wait for you to actually MOVE into your house. Snuggle with Scotty tonight, at least you are all together again for good!
isn't it wonderful to actually know about that house now? things that are a little bigger or smaller - as long as it works! i'm so excited for you. heather - you're being a trooper. i only wish i could be there with you to hug you or say goofy things to try and make you smile. i love you so much. and i'm glad you're back with scottie now!
yay for being reunited:)
glad you made okay and that the kids were superstars.
I'm sorry you're sad and missing "home". It will get BETTER.
In just a few short weeks you'll be busy as can be setting up house and getting to know (and hopefully LOVE) your new neighbors!
you're a trooper heather!
i can't believe i missed moving week! so crazy. you're in washington! it sounds like you're handling everything really well. moving is hard, but the new chapter will be a GREAT one!!! i want to see pics of the house!
Heather, I'm so sorry about the sad parts of moving. I agree with the comments above though -- it will be better far sooner than you might think. Hang in there!
Church was not the same without you. Someone else did the spotlight and it was the consensus among the Pearson crowd that she was NOT as good as Heather. I hope your ward is great. Good news on the townhouse - now when is the good news on the house???? We miss you!
Carrie beat me to the punch here. It WAS noticably odd at church today without the Grays sitting in the left side pews. No Hayden there turning around and giving me the stink eye. No Hopey pulling her shoes off....
I am affraid I will be in a long term funk without you guys here. I am not good at all with goodbyes. I don't really realize things like this (people moving, or dieing, etc.) are happening until it is too late.
We also miss Marlene and Mike visiting. They are like family. It is truly a sad day.
I was just thinking, first gone were the Taylors, then the Christensens.....Then left the Jones, Twiggs, and the Hansens. Now you guys. We are the last ones of the old gang, still here that is. Very sad indeed.
We hope to keep in touch with you guys. Give Scott a big hug from us. Later.
Moving is hard, so let yourself cry when it hits you...then you pick yourself up and start again. You can do it:)
