here's Hoping

Thank goodness for school today. We had some major attitudes going this morning. People were in bed on time last night...don't know what the deal was. To be fair, not everybody was being foul, just a couple :) No gym for me today, last night Hopey barfed all over the place 3 times. First, I took Hayden for a walk (more on that in a minute) and all of a sudden she turned around in her stroller and started "fake" coughing. Well, she got the stroller good. I was so glad she had carrots and some of my Mom's banana no-nut bread for dinner. Lovely. Then she proceeded to get a blanket while I was upstairs getting her in the tub, and last but NOT least...all over me. I hadn't quite gotten the "barf bucket" yet so I sacrificed my own shirt...that's all I had. The last time, wasn't so bad, her tummy was empty by then. After that she was pretty much pooped out, and slept great all night, without anymore "incidents". Good thing.

So, Hayden is a little bit bicycle challenged. He doesn't want to ride with training wheels, but he doesn't really want to put forth much effort to learn either. Our neighbor's little boy has a similar problem. They had somebody offer up some advice...you take the training wheels AND the peddles off. They learn to sit on the bike and "scoot" with their feet. All the while learning balance. Scott was rather reluctant to take the pedals off, "He can just learn like everybody else". Finally, the other night after working with Hayden for about a 1/2 hour, he took the darn pedals off, and he is willing to give it a try. Hayden does look a little "special" on his newly designed bike, but I'm hoping he will be a quick learner. Our practice session last night was cut short, by the barfing episode no less.

I can't believe it's already 10:50, I haven't done much. Although, Hope has been a bit on the fussy side...she's already down taking a nap. Maybe she will wake up a new woman. Here's hoping. I've decided this is a scrap booking day, Hope needs to get with the program and get happy quick ;) I need to start using up some of that cute paper I bought.

That's a mother's sacrifice, using yourself to block throw up going anywhere else!! Poor Hope! I hope she feels better when she wakes up!! Have fun scrapbooking! I'm waiting to find a site, or someone, you can just hand photos to and say "Make me something cute!" There's got to be a business somewhere like that...

If you don't post any of your scrappy pages, I will send Sarah after you. Although, Belinda might be able to defend you pretty darn well. Connor is funky today too. He's not barfing, but he has the trots. The trots are easier than barfing, so I really feel your pain. And tell your friend Ashley, there are businesses like that online!

Ah, I'm hoping that Hope is feeling better. It's so hard when the little ones are so sick -- I hate the barfs!

Oh poor Hope. As for taking the pedals off, I know a lot of people who've tried it and it works great. We did training wheels with Jessi and tried her without them and she doesn't know how to balance. The training wheels were actually a hinderance for her.

Poor Hope! Barfing is no fun--I hope she felt better after her nap! You made me laugh about Hayden's special bike riding--let us know if it works because then I will know what to do with my kids--we haven't tried anythign yet!

Is Hope feeling better now? I LOVE the bike idea, but Michael was not so excited about the thought of taking the pedals off. Why is that so hard?

Ahhh, I so dislike those days when things like that happen, over and over and over again.

My kids were all out of wack too. I'm chalking it up to the rigid schedule that we avoided over the summer.

So you'll have to post the nifty picture of Hayden with is no pedal bike. This is going to be a great family story to tell his wife and children. Love it!

Uh oh, the wrath of Sarah. You'd better post your work! I hope little Hopey is feeling better today. No more barfing! Good luck to Hayden and his bicycle riding efforts! I like the no-pedals idea. :)

No pedals is a GREAT idea. Grace can NOT ride her bike either. We took the training wheels off as motivation but now she just rides her scooter:) No pedals is definately worth a try.

Sorry about the barfy night. It STINKS (literally AND figuratively).
