a momentary lapse of judgement
I don't cook with shortening ever...except when I make pies. But I was going through my recipes and I happened upon this recipe. I was actually considering making it, until I talked to my friend Jennifer. She said not only no but h*** no. No messing with a classic. Especially, on Thanksgiving. What was I thinking, trying to make a whole wheat pie crust. I had a momentary lapse of judgement.

yes, i agree - that is a hell no situation. don't try to health up pie. otherwise you might as well just do hummus in a tortilla wrap. ick.
I don't know, that might be fun to try sometime...
Sometime, yes, just not on Thanksgiving. I think my husband would cry if I messed up the crust on a pie. :)
hee hee. Way to stick up for the original, Jennifer! :) At least your heart was in the right place, Heather. I wish I thought more along these lines and tried to "health" stuff up, but usually I try to add more sugar or fat to it instead.
Happy Thanksgiving tomorrow!!
Happy Thanksgiving! I wish I was there to try the pie, since I stuck up for it and all. Actually, I am still here - trailer problems, don't ask - but will be gone by 5 or 6 am. Have a great dinner!
yes, chickey! no whole wheat crusts on the holidays!!! that would have been a travesty. happy thanksgiving!
Whole wheat pie crust??? Not on Thanksgiving for sure. (maybe it's good -- if you try it, let me know!)
