Our first strawberry, half eaten by something. Hannah has been watching this guy for weeks. She "called" the first red strawberry. This morning when we were going to the bus, she got all excited because "her" berry was ripe. When we got a closer look, Hayden got a smile on his face, and informed her she called the "first red berry, and there it was!" Enjoy. There are a bunch more, but this is the only ripe one. I fear the birds might be our enemies here.
We have three blueberry bushes in the front that I planted this year. All three are completely covered in berries! I can't wait to enjoy those bad boys.
Have I told you I bought an ice cream maker this year? OMgoodness, it's so good. I completely don't care about calories or fat grams. Because, it is homemade...and when something is homemade calories and fat grams don't count. I only use real sugar and cream, all goodness. Nothing artificial. So, see, no need to count anything, just enjoy. I have made chocolate, fresh strawberry, and mint chocolate chip thus far. The mint chocolate chip has been my favorite. (I've made it a few times.) My Costco had this Cuisinart 2 quart ice cream, sorbet, yogurt maker for $49. Online they are going for $79. At Costco it had the magical * by the price. Plus, it was the Martha Stewart Everyday Foods favorite model. Hmmm, if it's good enough for Martha, it's good enough for me.
Hayley told me I needed to be a better blogger, so today I blogged. Several times, thank you. And while I did, my little bundle of joy has poor water on her baby (who happened to be in my scrap booking drawer :) and dumped out some embossing powder. All, in just about 2 minutes. So, I'm off to go clean up her latest mess.

Oh my gosh! I'm actually the first person to post a comment for once on your blog! Woo hoo! (just kidding). As usual your blog made me hungry again talking about all that homemade ice cream. How do you stay so in shape with your hobby of baking/cooking?
I know it's probably no consolation to you but I was chuckling while I read about your recent experiences with Hope and her adventures! Not fun for you but makes for a fun blog post.
Hey, Leah C. wears those fit flops, she swears by them.
I agree with you, Facebook is sort of funny. It's more like a glorified form of texting but a great way to find people, however I find that I enjoy my friends blogs more as they are more indepth and help me to enjoy what's going on in their lives.
Glad you are doing well!
I didn't know you were an ice creaming fool over there!!! That sounds heavenly but wouldn't bode well on my midsection. I need to visit soon.
yes. a little peer pressure goes a long way.
i've got a little mini strawberry growing, too!
glad you're enjoying the homemade ice cream... momma kinda wanty!
You made me want to get my ice cream maker going. That inner part just sits in my freezer looking lonely like it needs a job. Mint chocolate chip, huh? Want to share that recipe?
We just made ice cream yesterday -- Mark's famous toasted almond fudge - and it's awesome. Love it.
The bunnies get our strawberries. I love the plants and the little white flowers and Michael told me today we have some berries. Ineed to pick them before the rabbits get them. I am so happy to hear your blueberries are growing. I think I am going to turn the back of the yard into blueberries and raspberries. I can give a shout out for the ice cream. I tasted the chocolate and strawberry and it was fabulous.
