Spring has sprung

Japanese Gardens, Portland, Oregon

Skagit Valley, Washington
Austin, Texas
Grant Park, Chicago, Illinois

I came upon this article and I was happy to see some of my favorite places made the top 12 places for spring. That Japanese Garden in Portland is going to be a must see for me this year. I even know where it is! I saw it when I was visiting the Rose Garden last summer. Another place that I will be visiting again this year. Oh, and how beautiful are those tulips? Happy first day of spring today.

I was excited to hear it is now officially Spring. We have had a few days that had us guessing. Soon our trees will start to bud which is always a favorite.

the austin pic was taken literally across the street from my parents' neighborhood. they live in the "wildflower park" neighborhood, just adjacent to the wildflower center! cool!

wait, natalie...you don't live in your parent's neighborhood? I thought you did for some reason! And those are good places to hit, Sis!

Even Houston is beautiful right now. (I always think it is, but I realize I am biased). I was thinking as I drove down Louetta and every single pear tree was ablaze with white flowers and all azaleas (sp?) blooming and it was mid 70s that these THREE SHORT WEEKS are why I live here:) Ya know, before the mosquitos realize its feeding time.

you know, for growing up in Portland, and how many time we went to the Rose Gardens, I never made it to the Japanese Gardens. Maybe 10 years from now, when we go back to visit, we will go see them, eh? :)

so, how are you doing anyway? :)
