When Hope was sick and throwing up, she called throwing up the "bye-bye's". She'd point into her mouth, and say "bye-bye". I knew when it was coming (she'd tell me), and now when we say, so and so has the bye-bye's she totally knows what it means and points down into her mouth. Hannah is the next soldier to fall. Scott is leaving again, so he might luck out and not get it, or he will just spread the wealth tonight on the plane, not sure. I told Hunter to get ready. I told him, he had better not throw up from his tall bed. He has a history...he threw up once from the top bunk...just hung his head over the side and blew chunks. Imagine if you will, waking up to THAT sound. Gross.
So, McCain lost, as I'm sure you know. This was an election full of drama. Truth be told...I didn't LOVE either guy. Hannah told me she didn't want to go to school this morning. They have talked a lot about politics here in Hannah and Hunter's classes. That's good. Apparently, Hannah had been talking smack with some girl and didn't want to face her today. :) I have enjoyed all the calls for coming together as a nation. Can't I have just one day of "oh pooh?" Guess not. I watched/fast forwarded Oprah today. I like Oprah and she was on my nerves. In the spirit of looking forward, being positive and "coming together as a nation" (where has all this "togetherness" been for the last few years?) here's what I think: President Obama is a smart man, I think he is very genuine about his desire to "clean up" America, I do think it's cool we have elected a black president, and he is one charismatic guy. Let's Go America!

Oh no, poor Hannah. I didn't ralize you had it too Heather. Tell Hunter to wear a mask.
I also watched Oprah on and off while getting my wash and housework done. Whoopie, on the View, said her mom said she did not think she would live long enough to see a black man be president. Lots of changes in my lifetime and many for the better.
yuck. the bye byes. you poor people! i hope hunter doesn't get sick! i also hope that scott doesn't share the wealth on the airplane. ick.
I couldn't watch Oprah's post election special either..after lots of fast forwarding I just deleted it.
So cute about calling it the "bye-byes"...at least she knows to warn you!
Yeah,me too. I was bummed, but was forced to be a grown up when my kids wanted to know what we do now and I was faced with a "teachable moment". So I pulled it together and said, "well, we pray for him. He is our president and we pray that he makes good decisions and surrounds himself with smart people who advise him well...and we PRAY FOR HIM." They were satisfied with that. And I am proud to have a president that looks different and teaches kids that look different that they can be president too. That is cool. Remind me of that when we have spiraled into full-on socialism:) Hope everyone feels better. Lets talk today!
Flu in the family = no fun. It's like lice in the family..so annoying! I hope everyone starts feeling better soon! Totally cute about Hope's bye-byes though. And I laughed at how you put imagining being woken up to chunks coming up from above. Totally disgusting. Oh I hope it doesn't come to that again for any of you!
Obama wasn't my pick either...but it'll be interesting to see what 'changes' he does make. I heard a radio clip from some woman coming from his rally before election day saying something like "I can't believe this day has finally come! I'll never have to worry about paying another gas bill, or my mortgage or putting my kids through school! If I vote for him, he'll take care of me" I mean really? How nice would it be if we ALL had people paying for our bills, rich & poor! So I'm just praying that kind of 'change' doesn't increase from the taxes we already fork over.
i'm wondering what sensationally horrible things some people seem to think are going to happen because of obama being elected president. i didn't vote for him, but honestly, i'm not disappointed and i'm certainly not horrified. he'll be fine.
Natalie, I really don't think anything horrible is going to happen now that he is elected, at least I'm hoping ;) BUT what makes me sort of laugh are all the people that are expecting mircles on Day #1 in office. Easy people.
