Today, I am taking a breather!

Multnomah Falls, the SECOND largest running waterfall in North America (I think) But we got a kick out of that anyway...the SECOND-like the world's largest ball of twine. ha! It was beautiful though! Quite the hike too.
I basically missed out on all of Fort Vancouver thanks to this little lady, she was tired and hungry. Plus, it was the last day of our travels so she was ready for home.

First of all, has anyone done all the research lately on vacuum? I think we might be getting close to needing a new one, and was just starting to think. I have heard good things about that brand Miele, anyone have one? Are they worth the extra $$?? I have an upright now, but I grew up with a canister, and I can see the beauty of those too. Just wondering.

My sister Heidi and kids left this morning at 7 am. We had a great visit. The kids got along fabulously, always a little bit of a worry when you get 7 kids together for 7 days?? Will they play well together?? Well, they did. We ran around everyday from morning until night. We know how to do it! Here's a little list: Portland Rose Garden, Zoo, Mt. St. Helens, Multnomah Falls, Portland Farmers Market, Powell's Books, Cannon Beach, Fort Vancouver.

The day we were going to the Portland Farmer's Market/Powell's Books, the kids kind of turned up their noses. But guess what? They loved it. That Farmer's Market is something to behold, I loved it too! Fruits, veggies, flowers you name it. Delicious baked goods. Yum. No wonder the kids loved it. We just kept feeding them. We hit a little Italian Restaurant between the farmer's market and the book store. That book store was cool too. They sell new and used books. Plus, they sell "new" books that are on sale. I'm thinking they are the ones that have been around for a little while. Deals deals deals. My kind of book store. Hunter found a book he wanted, and I told him to go find it used, he did and it was a fraction of the price. Still in great condition too.

I haven't planted any rose bushes yet, but I plan on it. Once I dig out from laundry mountain. We went hiking and walking around plenty. BUT, I didn't make it to the gym. On Sunday night/Monday morning I dreamed about working out. That was it! I got up early Monday morning and went for a run. I couldn't stand it any longer. Spinning couldn't have felt any better today.

Oh, and Hope started climbing out of her crib. Bummer! I put her down last night after lots of talks about NOT climbing out. And she didn't. Okay. Then again this morning no climbing, and again at nap time. Can it be...a child that listens???? NOOOOO!

Yay! The trip was a success. The laundry aftermath won't be fun, but it was worth it!

I have a Dyson vacuum and I LOVE that hummer. It's the only vacuum I will ever own. It's bagless and has such powerful suction.

I really like my Dyson, but have heard good things about the Miele. I have the Dyson ball and it maneuvers really well, but I warn you that the vacuum itself is still really heavy. We love to joke how the vacuum really sucks. We are mature like that. Don't get us started watching a dog show and talking about the girl dogs (bi$ches). We giggle like we are twelve.

Beautiful pictures - and fun times with family are the best. Once the laundry is caught up things will look better to you, for sure.

After a whirlwind week like that I would not be thinking of the gym the first day of quiet. I'm inspired and off to the gym. Glad you had fun and discovered new places to see.

I love Portland!
I have been to Powell's Books and most likely that little Italian restaurant (if it is downtown.) I can't remember the names of places, will have to ask my Mom. I'll make sure and fill you in on an awesome Gelato place close to the Italian restaurant for next time.

I have a dyson in Holland and love it so much I got one for the house in Houston too. I vacuumed my living room with my old vacuum and then with the dyson and got a whole canister full of junk! I got the canister version because I think it is less to push around and better for a house with carpet, hardwood and tile. It really does never lose suction. I had a Miele in Asia and it was fine, but I will never buy anything but a dyson again!

i know you're still busy cleaning after guests, especially with camp and all - but it doesn't surprise me one bit that you're needing to hit the gym. you wouldn't be my sister if you didn't love the gym as much as i hate it!!! :)

ps i have a Dyson also - my only complaint is I don't think it "sucks" very well on edges. That bugs me. But I love that you can SEE how much it picks up and is bagless.
