Mary, Joseph and the pirates.

I got this little stable scene last year at Costco. It's very kid friendly, and I told the kids they could "touch it". Hayden has already broken a hand off one of the wise men this year. Well. The next thing I know, he has his pirate ship(s) downstairs, and he has Baby Jesus and Mary floating on the boat with his pirates. After the breaking of the hand incident, I told him he could play, but all the stuff needs to stay on the table. So, he just brought it all over, to the table, and the two worlds collided. That kid.

I was kind of feeling tired/lazy on Friday night when the kids started asking about putting up the Christmas tree. I even had thoughts of...I don't feel like it...I know gasp! BUT I am very glad I did, as I love the house decorated for Christmas. I even had my Mom, master Christmas tree light person ;) to help. What's REALLY nice, is now Hunter is big enough to help Scott get everything down out of the attic. He has been for a while now, but I sure was thankful for the help this weekend. I was a princess and didn't do any of the grunt work. haha

I love that I have been married long enough that my tree has history. Some history from when I was little. Like the little Baby Jesus ornament I made as a little kid out of a small white jewelry box and some paper and cotton. And some history from my own children. I don't put EVERYTHING up that they have ever made, but I put up some. They might not be in the prime locations on the tree, so okay they are in the back and on the bottom mostly, but they are still on. I know where they are, and I like to look at them.

Oh Oh, Hope has been taking steps for about a week...like over a couple steps. But in the last few days, she has gone to walking between people. Crawling is still her #1 mode of transportation, but the walking is coming. My girl is getting big. She has been surprisingly good with the tree too. Surprise surprise.

I saw her get up in the middle of the floor and walk over to me. She will be walking within days. The pirate ships came flying down the stairs and yes I think that is a nice combination the nativity scene and the pirates. Did pirates celebrate Christmas?

Gotta love a kid who can combine Mary and Joseph with the pirates -- that still has me smiling!

I can't believe Hope is walking already! What a champ. They get big fast don't they? Hayden is cracking me up playing with the Nativity. He's a clever boy.

The "pirate" story doesn't hold a candle to the "hey Grandpa smell this" story. Ask Heather, she laughed so hard she chocked.

I love that Baby Jesus was floating on the pirate ship...that Jesus, he really gets around, doesn't he?
